Pat Korn:

Pat is a full-time independent dance instructor with more than 25 years of teaching experience, currently teaching private and group lessons at studios in the Atlanta area and for several amateur dancer social groups.  Initially she received extensive training and certification at Arthur Murray’s and, for three years was the instructor for the teacher-training program for an Arthur Murray studio. Since then she continues to pursue independent training from a variety of well-known national coaches.  She loves dancing, frequently stating that her goal is to help others to enjoy dancing as much as she does.

The InterPlay Life Practice Program in Atlanta

Jennifer Denning

Atlanta, GA

  The class for 2016 has ended, we will post the new class when it becomes scheduled!

Jennifer will be joined by Christine Gautreaux and Ruth Schowalter, Certified Leaders, who bring a wealth of wisdom and enthusiasm to the Atlanta InterPlay community.
  • Discover new ways of getting what you really want in life based on an ethic of play;
  • Deepen what it means to live from your natural, embodied self;
  • Connect to the wisdom inherent in the creative expression of the body;
  • Rest in a community that respects and affirms the wisdom of each individual;
  • Expand your sense of connection, play and possibility in the areas you are called to serve in the world.

Each month, we will play with one of the 8 InterPlay Tools and deepen our practice of the InterPlay movement, storytelling, and vocal forms. The experiential format includes individual, paired and group forms, presentations, discussion and focus sessions. In between meetings, you'll have brief reading, reflection and writing assignments designed to support your integration and learning.
Jennifer, Ruth and Christine bring deep love & curiosity to their work as InterPlay Leaders. In Atlanta they have expanded their InterPlay work to include offerings to women in prison, NAMI of Georgia, and The Clarkston Community Center, a center that supports refugees in Georgia. They actively integrate the principles and practices of InterPlay to sustain them in their personal and professional lives.

The 2016 CPR Certification was a hit!  So, we will set it up again as requested. IF you wish to become certified, or have a group that wants the class, please email us to let us know!

Rising Phoenix T'ai Chi is excited to announce that we are offering CPR Certification classes to our students, friends and family.

All of our Rising Phoenix T'ai Chi instructors are certified in CPR. We agree with the AMA, the AHA and the National Safety Council, the more folks who know how to provide this amazingly helpful intervention, the more folks can be saved!

Now is a great time to think about finally getting that CPR training!

We are so grateful to be able to offer this quick and easy, yet fully accredited course!    American Heart Association curriculum, standard fees, and training in a very comfortable environment are offered!

 We are working with a Registered Nurse, who is certified to teach American Heart Association CPR . The on-line training takes place in the comfort of your own home, and the hands-on training will take place in our Rising Phoenix T'ai Chi Studio.

 First, contact us to register for a publicized class or to request a class.  Then the steps would be:

 There are 2 parts to the training, online and hands-on :

 1) The initial step is to go to this link

for The American Heart Association (AHA), to register.

  • Go to Course Catalog, look for Workplace Training.
  •  Choose "Heartsaver CPR AED on-line part 1". Follow the prompts.

 The cost for this part of the training is $23, paid online.

 Those who have used it say it takes around 30 minutes to an hour.  This class will be for Adult only, so be sure to note that and you can op out on “child and infant” in the video.

 2) For the hands-on testing in our studio, the charge is $40 per student, paid to the instructor. This is a separate charge from the initial online test, as is standard. This charge covers the Certified Instructor, the hands on training with CPR manikins and an AED simulator, and  the fee for registering your certification and your card.

 After you have successfully completed the course, the instructor will  send the completed rosters to AHA and  your the Certification Cards will be sent to us. The certification is good for 2 years.

 We will let you know when the cards are in, and arrange for pick-up or mailing.

The class will be approximately an hour.

 American Heart Association CPR is readily accepted by institutions who require CPR training for their staff.

 Students should wear comfortable clothing for sitting and working on the floor. We do also have chairs for you if you wish while the discussion part of the class is taking place. If you have any special physical needs, please let us know ahead of time. Also please leave bracelets, fragrances and lipstick at home!

  If you are interested in taking the course, but you are not available at this time, please let us know what might work for you,  and we will look into the future schedules! Also, please let us know if you are interested in a different class, such as including the child and infant, child and infant only, CPR for healthcare provider or first aid.

To your health!
