About Creating Healthtm: A note from Cate Morrill:
When I began studying and learning about T'ai Chi and Qi Gong 23 years ago, it was to make
a healthful change in my body, mind and spirit, and then when I started teaching, it was to continue my path and to help others
with those goals as well. When I started studying nutrition, 25 years ago, and then combined it with the T'ai Chi and
Qi Gong practices, everything really came into focus for me.
Eating well, moving well, gaining focus and attention to health, I lost 40 pounds
in 4 months, and I gained so much energy and focus that my friends were calling me the “energizer bunny”! Based
on healthy, sustainable choices for good, basic, no-fad nutrition, we can feel so happily satisfied, not at all deprived,
as we actually "feed" our cells with what they want and need. Many references from many of the reputable studies
on health and longevity you've seen recently are echoed here, as we are not in the habit of reinventing the wheel, but
rather helping you turn it.
We all know by now, there is no real pill, no magic stick that will truly create the goal
of health and wellness. Certainly many fad diets will help one lose weight initially, and often keep it off for some time.
But then...it's not about a diet. It's about Creating Health. It's about feeding yourselfand moving in a way that
honors the strong, healthy soul you are. Tips and knowledge about why you might be extra hungry, again from a scientific perspective,
or think you are, from a more Qi, (Chi) energy perspective, also scientifically documented, studies from major universities,
hospitals, etc, are provided to support all of the information shared, as simple as "movement is important" (!) to why some
foods make you want to keep eating, and eating them, and it's not just salt. I really have to say, that when I learned
all of this, it became very easy to create my eating habits around the info, and I am so very glad I did, in so many
ways.
