We believe that all people
deserve to receive the healing benefits of T'ai Chi and Qi Gong, no matter what age, physical restriction, physical condition,
ailments or other situations that may make attending a regular community class difficult, or less than optimal.
For those with special needs, such as those living with neurological disorders,
such as Parkinson's Disease or Multiple Sclerosis, those with physical conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes,
fibromyalgia, visual impairments, or other life altering situations, we design programs with reference to the specific challenges
of the situation, and have delivered these programs successfully for years.
To
that goal, we have created and developed several special T'ai Chi and Qi Gong programs for special populations which we
provide on site at special services centers or other specific locations, and have seen wonderful results. Students
report that they have been able to apply the principles and movements to their every day lives, and that lets us know that
we have indeed met our goal.
For
seated practitioners, our program creates upper body strength and flexibility as well as general
relaxation, and provides a set of exercises that can be continued for life.
To aid in learning and practicing, written handouts
are distributed, and audio and video support is available for home review. We encourage students and provide practice
often enough in class so that they can practice at home. We encourage students to share specific needs,
so that we can help each individual achieve his or her own goals. After all, T'ai Chi and Qi Gong are
inherently flexible in their use, and we wish to give everyone the knowledge, experience and power to use them as needed,
every day.
